The evolution of the recycling and waste industry
Last week we had the pleasure of supporting one of our business partners, Maintmaster, on their stand at the Recycling and Waste Management (RWM) Show, held at the NEC, Birmingham.
The show was really interesting, particularly with regard to the evolution and innovation surrounding this essential sector. We have worked and continue to work with a number of customers in the recycling and waste industry, so it was very interesting for us to see how this is evolving to ensure we can adapt and meet the changing needs of our customers.
Our consultant, Kevin Sullivan, attended the event and added “The RWM Exhibition at the NEC last week was a real eye opener. The industry is vibrant with a lot of capital projects in Anaerobic Digestion (AD Plants) about to start shortly.
“The idea of the circular economy where food and agricultural waste goes into the AD plants where they produce gases to fuel power generation that then circles back to the customers houses as electricity is phenomenal.”
With tough carbon footprint targets and the current energy crisis, there is no wonder that there is such importance for this industry to keep up with trends and advancements in technology.
How Maintmaster can help the RWM Industry
We spoke to Tom Reames of Maintmaster, RWM Excellence in Innovation Award Winner, about how his team can help this particular industry:
“The RWM Exhibition at the NEC last week was a really interesting event with many existing clients, prospects, and target clients across Waste Management, District Heating & Cooling, Energy, and Renewables, including BioMass and Energy from Waste.
“MaintMaster have a very good footprint across these industries with clients such as Stena Recycling, Margam Green Energy, Templeborough BioMass Power Plant, Tekniska Verken, Ragn Sells, Kraftringen, Babcock Wilcox Renewables, and more. Some of these clients are using MaintMaster across multiple sites in multiple countries.
“There was some real interest in how Maintenance and Asset Management can be made really simple for the end user with picture navigation and QR codes for accurate reporting and quick access to documentation, drawings, and work instructions; as well as complete HSE functionality within the workorder process as compliance is essential within these industries. And finally, we saw some of the more mature reliability focused clients interest in our IoT sensors integrated within MaintMaster CMMS to automate workflows and pre-empt breakdowns and failures.
“We’re hoping our experience and credibility in these industries already, coupled with our innovative solutions will bring fruit from the event – where we were recognised by the industry and left as winners in the RWM innovation awards.”
