ABP Achieve World-Class

MCP Consulting Group would like to give a massive congratulations to ABP Ellesmere, they have recently achieved World-Class status with AMIS. The multifunctional site is split into two parts, the abattoir site which processes circa 80,000 cattle per year and the deboning site which processes significantly more. The Ellesmere site actually produces an impressive 30,000 tonnes of retail product each year.

Having started on the AMIS Journey five years ago ABP is happy to have achieved the status and reaped the associated benefits.

Talking to the Engineering Manager for the site, Dan Cashman, he had the following to say in his reasoning for embarking on the AMIS Journey:

It was part of our group enginnering strategy at the time, when we started this at Ellesmere five years ago the excellence status was so far away but we always wanted this to be the end goal. So in short it helped align us to our strategy.

The one piece of advice Dan had for any other company thinking about embarking on the AMIS Journey was the following:

I would say it’s all about people, engineers are obsessed with machines but it’s all about people. The biggest change we have seen is engaging the whole site and valuing people and making sure they are rewarded correctly for the work they do.

Well done Ellesmere.
