Fitness runs in the family

CSR

When we heard that MCP employee, Matthew Clarke, was going to complete a half marathon for charity we were eager to support his worthy cause. In our most recent blog, read about why Matthew Clarke is not only running the Solihull half marathon but is also teaming up with his 62-year-old father to raise money for the St Giles Hospice.

About St Giles Hospice

St Giles Hospice is a registered charity founded in 1983 by the Reverend Paul Brothwell, originally to improve the care of local people dying with cancer. They now support people in the community whose illnesses may not be curable such as cancer, motor neurone disease, heart failure, MS and respiratory disease.

The range of specialist services is provided free of charge to those who need it. Although St Giles receives some funding from the Government, they rely heavily on donations and fundraising.

Father son team

Both Matthew and his father, Alphonso, are keen fitness enthusiasts with each working out and staying active quite regularly each week. They have a good reason to want to support St Giles in their cause as they lost a family member to cancer two years ago who received end-of-life care.

MCP

Here at MCP, we are keen to support local charities such as St Giles. If you wish to support Matthew in his challenge, you can do that by clicking Matthew’s Just Giving page here.
