Introducing our MCP CEO Designate - Dr. Reinhard Korb
MCP are very excited to introduce our CEO Designate, Dr. Reinhard Korb. Many of you will know our current CEO, Peter Gagg, who has successfully headed up our team here at MCP for many years. Before a phased retirement, Peter has been seeking a worthy partner to begin to fill his shoes - this has not been an easy task!
Peter and Reinhard have worked together for nearly a decade and Reinhard has certainly proved himself to be more than capable to step into the role.
Peter spoke about our new appointment:
“For those who have worked with MCP, you will know the diverse range of services we provide in physical asset management and maintenance. To ensure that the company continues to grow and evolve, it was essential that I find a person who not only has an in depth understanding of this industry but also the vision and innovative thinking to ensure that MCP remains one step ahead of our competition. I believe that with Reinhard joining MCP, this will bring further opportunity and the ability to grow within Europe, through closer working with our European partners. We will also have the possibility to expand our range of services into the area of technology and the Industrial Internet of Things.”
Reinhard’s statement about his new role:
“It is a great honour for me to support and lead MCP into the future. MCP can be very proud of a broad variety of services in the field of Asset Management including Maintenance. These include technical and management training, assessments and supporting the clients on their journey to excellence. Both the current team and the client base are two incredible assets. I will personally profit enormously from the transition phase, which I will spend with Peter. I know there are many people in industry that would like to have this privilege.”
Reinhard describes himself as a “proud Austrian” and said “I am eager to use the cultural knowledge of the UK staff to help us lead and maintain the global presence of MCP as a British company.”
Reinhard’s Career
Here we would like to provide a short synopsis of Reinhard’s career to date. You will no doubt agree that he is a perfect match for MCP.
During and after his studies in mechanical engineering, with a focus on control engineering, Reinhard worked as a tutor and later as an assistant at the Vienna University of Technology from 1990 to 1999.
From 1999 to 2008, Reinhard worked in the pharmaceutical industry in three technical management positions with increasing responsibility up to the position of Director of Engineering.
New Challenges
In search of new challenges, Reinhard founded Korb Consulting KG in 2009 and has been a shareholder of MCP Deutschland GmbH since 2014.
Being keen on expanding his experience further, he was very interested in getting involved in the international projects of MCP. Therefore, he was able to work with clients in various sectors such as steel, metals, automotive, paper, power plants, wood processing, food, hospitals, chemical and pharmaceutical. This work has taken him to many different European countries and even further overseas to sites of our international clients.
These projects brought the opportunity to work closely with many of MCP’s consultants and also with Peter directly, and so, the basis for building the relationship of trust was created - a partnership that has continued to flourish.
Dedication
Reinhard is a dedicated, experienced consultant supporting operators and maintainers of physical assets through assessments, development of strategic direction, training and intensive implementation support.
Over and Above
Also, Reinhard is active in the National Maintenance Society of his home country in Austria, the MFA since 2004 and in the European Federation of National Maintenance Societies (EFNMS) since 2006. He is also a co-author of the standard EN17485 Maintenance within Physical Asset Management.
